Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025 Expands Indo-Pacific Defense Cooperation
Scheduled from July 13 to August 4, 2025, Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025 (TS25) marks the largest iteration of the biennial military training exercise co-designed by Australia and the United States. This year's exercise involves 23 nations, including India, and will span across Queensland, other Australian states, and, for the first time, Papua New Guinea (PNG). Over 30,000 military personnel are expected to participate in comprehensive joint field exercises encompassing force preparation, amphibious landings, maritime and air combat, and live-fire operations. A significant highlight includes a simulated aircraft crash and joint personnel recovery exercise in PNG. The expanded participation underscores the deepening defense cooperation among Indo-Pacific nations.
